On May 18, 2000, President Clinton signed into law the Trade and Development Act of 2000.  Contained in the law is a provision that specifies new Foreign Trade Zone "Weekly Entry" procedures for distribution Zones.  This provides for a significant reduction of paperwork and fees.  As a principal FTZ operator, Metro International is one of the few companies that is authorized to take advantage of this new law.
