Our use of
Foreign Trade Zones
can save you
time and money.

   Metro the expert on
   international trade services.

   That's because we offer the
   exclusive  benefits of the
   Foreign Trade Zone (FTZ).

What is a Foreign Trade Zone?
An FTZ is a secured area within the U.S., where merchandise can be admitted without the immediate payment of U.S. Customs duties or Excise taxes. Importers and exporters can take advantage of our facilities within the FTZ as an arena in which to conduct international business. Merchandise admitted into the FTZ can be repacked, relabeled, cleaned, sorted, sampled, exhibited, destroyed, processed, assembled, manipulated, or exported, all without paying U.S. Customs duties while in the Foreign Trade Zone.

As the largest independent operator of FTZ's in the United States, Metro International is uniquely qualified to handle your International trade shipments.

  • Foreign Trade Zones can give your internet business a competitive advantage over storage at a conventional warehouses.

That's because domestic and foreign goods can be held at the Foreign Trade Zone while they await sale on the internet.

Specifically, goods destined to the U.S. are cleared and duties are paid, only when they leave the FTZ into the U.S..

Goods destined abroad are simply exempt from duty.
